A FIRE FOUGHT BY WOMEN, A Saw Mill Burned at Woodville-In the Absence of the Firemen the “Masheen’’ is “Manned” by the Ladies. HOPKINTON, Mass, October 5.—An incendiary fire last evening totally destroyed the saw and grist-mill at Woodville, occupied by Alvers Woods, with its content, con sisting of machinery, tools, several sleds, stored there, and about thirty cords of wood prepared for use. Nothing was saved, Mr. ‘Wood’s loss is about $700, not in sured. The mill and flume, valued at $500, were owned, one-third by Colonel Wood of ‘Woodville, and two-thirds by Jordan, Marsh Co, of Boston. The engine stationed at this village had participated in the fireman’s muster at Milford during the day, and won the first prize of 8200, and died but just returned to the house when the alarm was given.
