Obituary.Samuel C. NYinaus, sou of King D Wiuans, j formerly of Pendleton Co., Ky., was born in 1 that County, March 31 si, 18 Hi. He was rear-' ed in Broukfiile, and learned (lie Printim’ !Abusiness with Mr. Bentley in the Democrat Office. 1U was a member of the Brooknlle Methodist Sunday School. On the 7th of February, lfc'G4, he volunteered in the armyfor the dtdenae of his country. He was a ' member of Co C, 13ih Ueg't Ind. Vula. in a battle near Petersburg, Va., June 30th, he was wounded in the thigh, which proved lobe mor.! tal; wmi removed to the Hospital at Point j Lookout, Md., Juiy 3id, und died at G o clock on the morning of the 4th. The Chaplain of the Hospital, K-v. D. D. McKee, writes to Mr. Winans, the father of the deceased, us follows:“He was brought to the Hospital here on yesterday in a very Jow condition, i saw him an Lour or two after he came. He told me : Iiis name, his father's name and po»;lt;ollic«* — was in a stupor and indiiieu to sleep, | breathing with difficulty, i upok- to him of his hopes in the future. He said he was trusting in the Savior. He was not in a condition to talk much. It is a suurce of satisfaction io know that his thoughts were directed to Hie Friend of Sinners, the Lamb of Uod. He : continued to sink, and died ubuui G o'clock ! this morning, Juiy 41h.‘*ilia parent*, brothers and sisters are left to mourn his loss.
