JEocheea Join the Snake*.The Snake Indiana, many of whom have refused to accept allotments from ..tttejgfcyerpment, are meeting in their council grove, pear Kellyville, with a band of TSuchee Indians, whom they will ask to jdin them in a petition to congress asking it to abandon its entire system of allotting lands and put the members of their tribe again in unrestrained possession of the soil. The Euchces have succeeded in retaining their crude forms of life and worship better perhaps than any other tribe in Indian territory and have noteven married outside of their clan. The Snakes, who have many of the same aboriginal qualities, hope to induce them to join in the hopeless fight against the march of civilization. “Crazy Snake,” the leader of the Snakes, has persistently refused to accept an allotment from the government and he has induced many of his tribe to share his views.
