SECOND DESPATCH.Fbbdbrioton, Oct. 6th, 1 P. M.About 400 persons arrived by morning train and people ire crowding in from all parts.The gathering at the river bank to witness the Regatta was immense. The weather hat considerably improved, and the water was in first rate condition for racing.In the wherry race the boat of the St. John Rowing Club, “ Hobart Pulton,'' rowed by Jamea Belyea, of Carieton, eaiily beat the “George Stewart, rowed by O. Dunham, of Indiantown, in a two mile match, Fulton himaelf did not pull.In the four-oared outrigger race, distance three miles, the “ C\ Coyle, pulled ty the McLarens and O’Briem, won. The Calais boat “ St. Croix, was the only competitor; but from the start the St, John men had it. They pulled a fine easy stroke.The Calais boat is evidently a good one, and the crew pull a very quick stroke, but scarcely take hold enough ot tne water, and they splesh a good deal. ’I he time was uot very good-27. 20—the “ Coylt winning by abuut half a minute.There was little belling, and no chance of winning back the money lost at LiChine.The canoe race of three miles—gentlemen amateur*— wo* very exciting About a dottn started, including several cauots of Indians, all go.ng out in a heap and coming in m a string.
