The opening play will be at Christmas.The Heroine is a Miss S m i t h—a young Lady, to whom fame cannot be more bountiful than nature and art. Her forte is Tragedy.Captain Ashe, supports the principal characters both in Tragedy and Comedy—besides his ; favourite, Macbeath. ,Lard Grandison himself, is a chief support; of the performances—the elderly characters, as j Priuli, Jarvis, Sciolto, he plays with much dignity and feeling.The rest of the company are well appointed, j The theatre, the scenery, and all the ornamental j parts, are all new, and in the best style.
