H. J. Cretsinger Dead H. J. Cretsinger died at his home near Ivan yesterday morning and was buried in the Cedar Creek cemetery yes terday evening. Elder D. J. E. Clark, a cousin of the de ceased, conducted the burial services. Mr. Cretsinger was a Con federate soldier and at the bat tle of Culkershoe Pass won distinction for bravery. He was a devout Member of the Primitive Baptist church and led an every day christian life of the sort that won for him iike esteem, confidence and re spect of all who came in con tact with him. He was a na tive of Illinois but came toa Texas when sixteen years of age and settled in Parker county in 1856 or 1857. In the early seventies he moved to Stephens county and focat ed on the place where he died. He was a stanch democrat and never once in his life, scratched the ticket of his party. The large crowd which at tended his funeral and the great floral offering at the grave attested in a small de gree, to the love his friends and neighbors had for him. He leaves six children, four daughters and two sons, all grown, who have the sincerest sympathy of the entire com.
