RUN FOR DOCTOR.And the Doctor Just Arrived in Time to Keep Eva Waller from Shuffling off.She Took a Dose or Laudanum, butj Science Finally Prevailed and She Ib Likely to Recover.Last night that portion of Second Are. in the immediate vicinity of Mre. Robertson alias Eva Waller’s residence corner of Niagara street and Second avenue, was aroused by the report that Eva bad partaken of a big dose of laudanum. The cry was Urun for the doctor and the doctor arrived just in time. Powerful emetics were administed and her life was saved. It appears Eva went across to Mrs Quinlan’s,taking a bottle of laudanum with her and took the poison in presence of the woman in that house, who made an outcry, Ed Quinlan went out and called for Jere Murphy and Ed Briggs who came in and assisted Eva across to her own house. Reaching the door Eva said aho was all right and would go to. bed. The men then left, The doctor came, but Eva could not be found. A search was made and Rt last she was found in the cellar lying on the floor asleep. Briggs aud Murphy and Officer Neher carried her inR the sitting room where the doctor gave her an emetic and saved her life. Officer Elliott was also present and assisted Dr, Hayes. The woman is reported out of danger.
