Julia V. Beaupre Homecoming '91 began early this morning with activities continuing until tomorrow night. Royalty nominations were made last week with two new categories added. This year sophomores and juniors chose nominees for prince in addition to prin cess. Seniors continued the tradition of nominating candidates for king and queen. Nominees for king are Todd Baumann, BJ. Edmondson, Jason Pettigrew, Mark Ryan and Jonathan Walker. Queen nominees are Abby Chasteen, Kelly Eppes, Shelby Eppes, Erin Hamil and Heather McKee. King and queen will be crowned during the halftime ceremonies by reigning queen Priscilla Embrey and ° 89 king Steve Lemonds. The junior nominees for prince are Jay Davern, Brian Feld, Brad Mclear, Ben Pettigrew, Scott Prewett and Rance Wiseman. Nominees for princess are Elissa Chaney, Jennifer Lauderdale, Betsy Lowe, Kristi Pruett, Ashley Self and Jeanne Wildman. Sophomore nominees for prince are Nassar Ayyad, Casey Cunningham, Trent Fuller, Clay Russell and Carlos Soto. Nominees for princess are Sarah Galaviz, Erin Jenkins, Shana Jennings, Meagan Lee and Julie Tapley. Sophomore and junior prince and prin cess will be announced during the pep rally today at 10:20. The festive day began at 7 a.m. in the cafeteria with the traditional Homecoming breakfast. Clubs and organizations hosted tables serving foods for all Colts and ex’s until 7:40. The excitement continues during the morning when the student body and ex’s come together for an extended pep rally. During the rally a Coming Home King and Queen will be crowned from the oldest graduating class in attendance. The entire royal court will also be announced. Numerous special guests will be intro duced and all former cheerleaders attend ing will lead the crowd in a yell. Former Principal James Crouch has been invited to tell one of his famous dreams. Following the pep rally Student Council members will host a reception for the exes. Preparation time finally comes to an end. Mums and boutonnieres will be pinned on and pictures will be taken before dates arrive for the 7:30 kickoff against Mansfield. Halftime ceremonies will re veal the new king and queen along with the band and drill team show. Homecoming festivities continue Satur day night, with the Student Council spon sored dance in the cafeteria from 8 to midnight. Tickets will be $3 per person or $5 per couple. Steve Lemonds and Trent Loftin will be the Dr.’s for the night. The future of the dance is in doubt due to the low attendance the past few years. “I would like to give it one more year now that we have moved the dance to Saturday night,” Student Council sponsor Brenda Gilmore said. “I don’t want to give it up.” Homecoming King and Queen nominees include B.J.
