Brenda Rankin, a first grade teacher at A.L. Whitten Elemen tary School, has been selected by her colleagues as “Teacher of the Month.” She has been teaching for 10 years. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Ms. Rankin has one son, Demetrius Rankin, an 8th grader at Strong Middle School. “My goal is to help children learn and develop positive self concepts,” said Ms. Rankin. Whitten Teachers of the Month get a number of perks, including: “Flowers from the principal. *Use of a designated parking space for one month. “A free lunch in the cafeteria. *Name displayed in the teach ers’ lounge and foyer. coli with Cheese Sauce, Angel Biscuits, Sugar Cookie, Milk. WEDNESDAY: Taco Salad, Taco Sauce, Fiesta Com, Apple sauce, Cinnamon Roll, Fresh Fruit, Milk. THURSDAY: STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAYS FRIDAY: STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAYS *One lesson taught by the principal.
