Death of llou. Isaac Huclinimii.Thf. Huh. Isaac Buchanan died at his residence in Hamilton, oil Monday morning. Among the many eminent men upon whom death lias recently Inid his hand, few wcro more eminent or admirable tlmn the ono who has now fallen, His age was 73 years. For upwards of 53 years he had been a resident of Canada, mid his long history testifies to the jvortli, dignity, and power of his chaiaclci'. Ife had a spontaneous admiration for all that was noble and generous, and a sjwntane-ous contempt for all that was base and mean. He was bred to commerce, commencing commercial life at the early ago of 15, but his school training before this was careful and full of premise. His original talents, clear intuitioiisjvirile and unsparing judgment, and his (rank, picturesque, and witty expression, jmade him one of the ni^st impressive and valuable public writers and speakers lt;f his day. He was a frequent contributor to the cojumna of the Hamilton Mijriiing Banner during the period of its greatest success, and when it was the property of the late Win. Manly Nicholjion. !
