Numerous Fiub.—Daring tve night of Wednesday not fewer than five serious fires occurred in various parts ofthe Metropolitan district.—The first broke out at 12, Windsor*tetrace. Bow Common Lane, In the ceeupatkn of Mr. Hall. It began in the back parlour, and when»first discovered the apartment was completely surrounded with dame. Bafore the fire coaid be subdued that part of the premises in which it originated was burnt out, and the building and contents severely damaged. The second outbreak took place at 8, Crown Row, Walworth Road, belonging to Mr. Tatum,, straw bonnet maker. It was earned by a spark falling from a lighted candle into a bln, in the front shop, filled with bonnets. The flames were not extinguished until a number of bonnets were destroyed, and the fixtures damaged by fire. A. third fire broke out shortly before midnight, at 37, Harding.street, Sea Tavern Fields, Shadwell, the property of Mr. Searie. The over-h sating of a fire piece, in the adjoining house, was the causa. Owing to the exertions of the inmates and others the fire was soon ^xtsguiihed* The fourth fire happened at 32, Marshall-street, Golden-square* in the tenure of Mrs C. Smith ; hut the damage done, dwas inconsiderable* The fifth fire took place at i, Essex-street, BaUmah green, be. longing to Mr. J. Baker, luditr match mannfhetortr. It commenced In the boiler house. The parish tnd three Brigade engines attended with all speed, and the fire was soon subdued, but not before a great part of the roof of the bo let-house, together with the contents, was destroed.
