the prices do not range so high as they expected.Bast Retford.—The hop-picking in this district is now ended, and most of the produce has been bagged in most excellent condition. It is calculated that a larger quantity will be brought to our forthcoming fair than has been known for several years: indeed, were the produce in the south as abundant as it is here, it iscalculated the duty would average 240,0001. In some parts here the hops weigh oft rather light, but the sample is remarkably fine, and the quality very superior. In the neighbouinood of OUertoti and Rufford the crop is uncommonly productive, averaging from 15 to 18 cwt. per acre. We n ave teen a sample belonging to M r. T umer, of Ollerton, which is as good as any we witnessed in 1820. Mr. Flower, of Houghton, hifs an uncommon crop, and very good in quality. Mr. Denman, of Be-vercotes, has a most excellent sample, and perhaps the largest produce in the district: on one small plantation, consisting only of two acres of land, actually more than two tons of the very best hops we have seen. The Bestwood yards are not far behind in produce, and not at all inferior in quality. Mr. Gravenor of Bellmoor has upwards of nine urns weight in his plantations, and we have seldom witnessed a finer sample, or a firmer bop for doing business. The Clarbro* plantations, belonging to William Fisher, Esq., Thomas Wheelwright, Esq. and Mr. John Hudson, fully maintain the high character they have sustained for several years; and Mr. Swinscoe Jackson’s produce, of Ordsall, is not behind either in point of quantity or quality. Of course prices, as yet, are not exactly fixed, but we subjoin a list, which is as correct as can at present be ascertained:—New North Clays, 61. 10s* to 71* 7s* l Kents, 61. to 81. 16s.; Sussex, 51. 15s. to 61. 6s.; yearling Clays, 51.5a. to 71* * Kents, 51. 15s. to 61. 6s,; Sussex, 51.12*. to 61.; 1832, Clays. 51. to 61.10s.; Kents, 51. 10s. to 5L 18*.; Sussex. 51. 8s. to 51. 15s.
