He jwas born in Elberton, Ga. and is a graduate of the Elberton aHigh School and attended North iGeorgia College at Dahlonega. pHe entered the armed services (in 1950 and after graduation ifrom Officers Candidate School at El Paso, Texas, served in iKorea as battery commander iand operations officer. iUpon returning to Georgia tin 1954, he made Thomasville \his home, where he founded ii Oglesby Monument Company, fHe served as President of tI Oglesby-Nunnally C^rp. and is (i presently chairman of the Board |f of Mon Industries. I,s Mr. Ogledby is an Elder andie Sunday School Superintendentie in the Presbyterian Church,j. He is also a Rotarion, Elk,•7 Moose, a member of the V.■? F. W., YMCA, Thomas CountyChamber of Commerce, a for-(y mer commander of Post 31American Legion and past president of Jerger School P.T.A. He is presently serving on the Board Of Directors of ,r the Georiga, Florida, Alabama,m Association of Monument Builders of America.P(j He is a former Thomas Countyjc and 2nd. District Chairman ofr_ the Republican Party and is amember of the state committee jj! and central committee. He wasls a delegate to the 1964 Repub-js lican Convention and delegateat large to the 1968 Republican Convention.Mr. Oglesby was elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 1964 and is Minority Leader in the House of Representatives.Mr. Oglesby is married to the former Delpha Folmer of Liberal, Kansas and they have two children, Cathie and Jimmy, to ages 15 and 8.
