A former Fast Alton resident, Donald Herrin, 30, was killed instantly in a head-on automobile collision in Crewe Cover, a sub urb of Peoria, Ill, shortly after 10 p.m., Friday. According to Peoria police, Herrin was alone at the time of the accident. They said he was driving north in the 400 block of Main street in Crewe Cover when he apparently lost control of the car and crossed into the south-bound lane, collid ing with an automobile driven by Richard Dodson, 24, of Peoria Heights. With Dodson at the time of the crash were his wife and two children, 2 and 3 years of age. Dodson and his wife were hos pitalized with possible concussions and other injuries. The children were treated for minor bruises and released from the hospital. Herrin is the son of Alva Herrin of 560 W. St. Louis Ave., East Alton, and is one of 22 children. Funeral services will be an nounced from the Schmidt Fu neral Home in East Peoria.
