Two families with dwellings out side the city limits were granted water Wednesday by the city com missioners. A third application was not act ed upon while the commissioners make a further study of the water supply capacity. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Nichols on Avery street were granted permis sion to attach to the city line. Water would be for drinking purposes only as the property has irrigation ditch rights. The applicants told the commission they had been building their house since 1949. Mayor R. V. Borleske pointed out the house was west of the city, and therefore did not affect the water supply of persons in the limits. βIn a sense it is waste water,β P. M. Winans, finance commissioner, add ed. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ewing off Car street also were given per mission to connect with the water system. Mrs. Ewing said they had paid their share of building the water one on Carl street in 1948 but had not connected at that time. The Ewings agreed to use the water only for domestic use. Irrigation supplies would con tinue to be obtained from the Ewing well A third application for city water from Mrs. Genevieve Ferrer was tabled, Mrs. Ferrel said she wanted city water for a house she planned to save in South Second near Mountain View cemetery.
