Prominent Business Man Quits World ly Cares at 9:25 O'clock Wed nesday Night. Willamsport and community was terribly shocked late Wednes day evening and early yesterday morning when the sad news of Harry W. Darling’s sudden death was announced. He had been in his usual health up to Wednesday morning when he complained of feeling ill; but being a man who seldom complained and took little thought of the many little ailments to which humanity is heir, he com plained but little and was at his store as late as 9 o'clock Wednes day morning. Harry W. Darling was the son of John W. and Luella Long Darling, and was born in Williamsport Jan uary 1, 1876. He spent his boy hood days here and accrued his education in the local schools. On November 28, 1900 he was married to Anna Marlatt, the cere mony being performed by the late Rev. William Wilmer at his home in Attica. In 1906 he embarked in the groc ery business here, having acquired the stock of goods which he had formerly managed under the firm name of Judy Darling. For thirteen years he has given Will iamsport a modern grocery both in point of service and quality of goods. After embarking in the grocery business he conceived the idea that Williamsport needed a bakery and so installed a bakery in connection with his other business, and has since successfully operated both enterprises. His demise occurred at 9:25 o'clock Wednesday night, acute indigestion being ascribed by the attending physician as the cause of death. He was 43 years and 9 months old, and is survived by his wife, 2 step-father, William Lind sley, one step-sister, Mrs. Charles Hunter, and one step-brother, Jesse Lindsley, besides a legion of warm and affectionate friends. The funeral will be held from the M. E. church in this city at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon. The funeral discourse will be de livered by Rev. E. L. Butler, of Indianapolis, former pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. J. E. Mc Cloud. Interment will be made in Highland cemetery.
