She claimed that he struck her once with a broom handle and once with a bridle. She also claimed that he was given to going on extended drunks and for weeks at a time was unable to attend to his business. In this she was corroborated by two children, and other witnesses testified to seeing him drunk at different times. The defendant claimed that he was not oruel and that he did not go on sprees. He brought a number of witnesses to testify that he was notin the habit of getting drunk. The court, after hearing the evidence, set aside the bill and would not allow the decree.
