Little rat ooedeker ’ Earns Carnegie Medaly The Carnegie hero fund is past d due in Lander. Some months ago i- Charles Maly attempted to save d the life of Bert Perrin, while the n latter, saturated with gasoline, d was being burned to death in a h pillar of fire. Maly risked his e own life by so doing, but the in-i cident evidently was not reported s to the Carnegie fund people, r- And now little “Fat” Boetiekeg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Boe-h deker of Dubois, would look good '* with a Carnegie medal fastened L to him. Last week Fat,” agede 10. and his brother •‘Bump.'’aged 13, were the principals in the runaway of a team of colts near Dubois. The boys were both thrown from a wagon, the elder suffering a broken arm in two places and a dislocation of the collar bone. In the mix-up Fat sustained a broken leg. Bump'* was put out of business, but “Fat” was on the job. With his broken leg he chased the runaway team, caught them,and clambered into the wagon. Then he went to the relief of his injured brother. The little fellow loaded the larger boy into the wagon and drove the fractious colts back to the Boedeker ranch. ? I Whan he reached home “Fat; proceeded to faint, from pain and I excitement, He was pnt to bedand the doctor came and patched * him up.
