On Saturday night Jeff Warren, dep-puty United State marshall came up and placed Mr. Albert Sims under arrest on the orders of W. C. Watson, the post office official detailed to work ud the case against the party or parties who had mailed theatning letters to theginners here. Mr. Watson spent several days here and secured what to him was sufficient evidence to have Mr. i Sims gobefor? the United States Com- j missioner at Aberdeen for investiga- j tion. Mr. Sims appeared before the! commissioner Monday being represented ! by C. P. Long, as attorney. After examination the commissioner placed Mr. 1 Sims under bond in the sum of $500 1 to await the action of the federal grand jury that meets in October. The ; deputy marshall also arrested and carried down Mr. Tom Boyd of near Gun-town upon a similar charge. Mr. Boyd waived examination and was also placed under a $500. bond. Both of the above named gentlemen bear good namesand their arrests caused considerable surprise. They both maintain theirjn-nocence and say that the charge against them cannot be sustained,
