DEVERS LOCALS. Mrs. Babcock, after a three month's visit to Bay City, Mich., has returned to Devers. Robert Stevens is quite sick at Dr. Wells’ home. Hester Taylor had the misfortune to fall and dislocate his foot. Mr. Haskell was severely scalded at his saw mill five miles from here a few days ago. The latest news of the Zerath well, they were something over a thousand feet and bailing had commenced and a gusher expected at any time. Work on the Babcock well is pro gressing nicely. They are down 600 feet, Col. Win, Stacy started his threshing machine Monday. He has a fine crop of rice. The weather is becoming very dry and a good rain would help consider able to make fall gardens and potatoes. Miss Stella Pile of Houston is on a visit to her parents at his place.
