Harwell Held to Orand Jurj.The p elimiuary hearing of TheState vs. .left- Harwell c-argedwith the killing of Newt Ford wasconducted at the court house onWednesday and Thursday, EsquiitMcNeil sitting on the case witEsquire Walker of this district.There were a large number ofwitnesses and after the testim i:v•was all in and argument by con ■[ the justices decided that the testimony against Harwell was strong enough to hold him in order that the grand jury might investigate the ease. The boud was fixed at $300. Harwell was held until boud in this case and one for assault and battery with intent to kill aud murder, for which he was indicted at the February term of court, is given.
