kKAN ItUOKE WALTER’S NOSE.An Assault on the Railroad Tiaeks— Kean Arrested.Mr. 15. F W alter, a compositor, was assaulted by “l'atsy” Kean Saturday afternoon, bad his nose broken, received a black eye and an ugly cut on the back oftiis head.Walter, in company with O. 11. Albur-ti, had been to the circus and was on his way home. While walking across the Ihdtimore and Ohio railroad tracks i at llaltimorc street they were accosted hy Kean who spoke to them. Alburtis made some answer which angered Kean. W ords passed between them and Kean seized Alburtis and forced him to the ground and hit him. While they were scuttling Walter went up to Kean and asked him not to beat Alburtis. Friends j of Kean pushed Walter away and he started to go home. Kean rushed up to Walters anil deliberately kicked him in the breast. Walter said nothing but went n Ids way. Kean started after him again and struck him a terrific blow in the face with his fist, breaking his nose and blacking his eye. Walter sank to the ground unconscious. He was revived and taken to his home.; Officer t'osgrove arrested Kean and let him go afterwards. Sheri IT Anthony re-arrested Kean and took him to the station. lie was released on $300 bail to ’ appear before Squire Thompson Sunday afternoon at If o’clock. Walter is badly j hurt.Kean was given a hearing before Squire . (fonder Tuesday at the station house, charged with disorderly conduct. Fob (ieorge A. l’earre ably defended him, but , the justice found him guilty and fined h;m sg-1.20. He did not have the money l and his mother went his security until j Saturday, when he promised to pay.Kean was before Squire Thompson I Tuesday afternoon, lie asked for a jury trial and the Squire released him on i SoOd bail in each ease for theaction of the grand jury.
