GrNti Piranhas 1, Opponent 0in the season opener the Green Piranhas defeated a tough opponent 1*0 in front of a capacity crowd last Saturday- Playing aggressively the big front tine of Jared Bade. Justin Beiter. Brandon Carrolt. Connor Pontiakos and Jake WaUwork applied strong pressure forcing numerous turnovers and placing some strong shots early to set the game tempo. Halfback Michael Corrente, Zack Cunningham. Stratton Palmer, and Blake Michtnock played inspirational ball as they stopped any attempts at opposition offense. The Big defense led by Joe Thornton. Vincent Jison and Matt Sukel frustrated and leveled any coordinated rushes during the first half giving goalie Jared Feldman little to do. In the second hall the Piranha attack really came together With Feldman moving out of the goal and Pontiakos roaming between the pipes the offense led by Palmer and Cunningham just kept moving forward. With the wide sides of Carroll and Cunningham. WaUwork and Corrente driving the lines. Michinock stole a pass and brough the crowd to its feet as he gave up the body to keep the pressure up by setting up Cunningham in the middle. Zack played the ball back to Jison who shoveled it over to Thornton who placed it on Palmers loot Stratton thundered up the middle as Feldman broke to the goal With Carroll and Beiter providing cover. Feldman blasted the only goal of the game The defense allowed only 7 shots on goal
