Funeral Thursday for William WilsonFuneral services will be held this (Thursday) morning at 10:30 at First United Methodist Church in Clarion for William E. Wilson, 55, of Clarion. The Rev. Jerald D. Swanson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at Clarion.His wife is the former Helen Hays.Mr. Wilson died Saturday (Sept. 26, 1987) at a Rochester, Minn., hospital following a lengthy illness.He was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Hancock county to William K. and Ella (Olson) Wilson. He was raised and educated in Hancock county^nd graduated from Kanawha High School during 1952. He then served four years in the U. S. Navy.On Nov. 14, 1954, he was united in marriage to Helen Hays at Thompson.Mr. Wilson was employed by Butt’r Topp Bakery at Clear Lake until 1958 when the family moved to Kanawha where he was employed by Moeller Implement Co. During 1973, they moved to Garion where Mr. Wilson and Floyd Broshar purchased the Garion Implement Co. He became full owner of the business in 1980 and sold it during 1982.Mr. Wilson was a trustee of the United Methodist Church, a member of the V. F. W., Lions Gub, Chamber of Commerce and the Garion Development Commission .He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Teresa Wilson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Bruce (Lori) Gaulke of Clarion; one son, James of Lincoln, Nebr.; one grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Cook and DeVera Wilson, both of Britt; and three brothers, John of Britt, Robert of Des Moines and Dennis of Mason City.
