The Happy Cowboys thrilled a large homecoming crowd, including hundreds of exes, as they rolled over Amherst by a score of 64-0 Friday night.In chalking up their thirdstraight conference win, the Cowboys chewed out a total of 560 yards, with 119 coming through the air. The Bulldogs from Amherst managed only 108 total yards with the bulk of that,v y. j79 yards, via the passing route.Chris Pearson, a senior halfback, tallied four times on runs of 12,78 and 31 yards, and a Mark Hargraves pass good for 30 point-making yards. Pearson also ran two conversions acorss giving him 28 total points for the night.Greg looney, running from the other halfback slot, scored from six yards out and Lonnie Tackitt hit paydirt on a 24 yard pass from Hargraves. Bob Cole got in on the rout with a one yard tally and linebacker Gary Barrett scampered 55 yards into the endzone after intercepting a Bulldog pass.Hargrave, who booted six conversions out of seven trys, also came through with a touchdown pass to Teddy Of-field, that one covering 12 yards.After dropping the nonconference season opener toClaude 30-19, the highflying Cowboys have scored 141 points while holding three leaguemembers scoreless.The top-rated Cowboys journey to Nazareth next Friday night in another 2-B conferencegame.
