COL JACKSON OF ROGERS GIVEN LEGION OF MERIT♦Roger*, Ark., Sept. 30.—Colonel Nelson P. Jackson of Rogers has been awarded the Legion of Merit for training the first fighter command to a high state of operational efficiency during his service as commanding officer, the war department announced today. Jackson came to Rogers from the New England states in 1942 to establish a home in the Ozarks for his family during the war as one of the safest spots in the United States.”Jackson was stationed at Richmond, Va.t for several months before being sent overseas last August 10.
