a petition, which petition was asking a pardon for Jud Harrison, who is in the penitentiary for the murder of Grady Honea, which petition deponent first refused to sign, but said Hell made the following statement, or a statement conveying about the same meaning, “1 do not see why you should refuse to sign it, as the family ot the deceased were willing for a pardon to he granted to Harrison. That the old man (meaning the father of deceased) said that after Harrison had served two years that he would be willing that he he pardoned.”This 17th day of September, 1915.W. M. Cannon.Sworn to and subscribed to before me. this Sept. 1 7, 19IB.Olin Fincher, Clerk or Superior CourtGEORGIA, Cherokee County.Personally appeared before the undersigned, an officer of said State duly authorized by law to administer, oaths, Robert Honea, John Honea, Candis Honea, James Honea, Palis-tine Honea, who on oath say that they were near relatives to Grady Honea, in his lifetime, and who was murdered by Jud Harrison, and who now through his people is making an effort to procure a pardon from a life term in the penitentiary, which was given said Jud Harrison for the murder of Grudy Honea.Affiants are informed that partiesare circulating the report that all of these affiants are willing that a pardon he granted the said Jud Harrison, which reports are absolutely untrue.Affiants are further informed that parties who are circulating petitions for the pardon of said Jud Harrison are making the statement that these affiants have signed petitions or will sign petitions to the Prison Commission asking for the pardon of the said Jud Harrison, all of which said statements are absolutely false and untrue. and that they are unwilling that Jud Harrison bo pardoned for the murder of Grady Honea.John H.
