CRIME IS SUSPECTED IN HOME HOLOCAUSTMother and Four Ghrl'Ten Die; Father Escape-).Champaign, 111., Sept. °0.—Champaign county officials seek to lift the veil of mystery which sun ounds the death of Mrs. Scott Stone ard her four children, who are dead in the charred ruins of the Stone farm house, south of Champaign.Scott Stone, the husband, who occupied another part of the .muse, was the only member of the fa nily to escape. The dead are: A rs. DessieStone, twenty-eight years ■ Id; Violet Stone, five years old; Wil )er Stone, four years old; Marcella S one, three years old; Vernice Stone, one and one-half years old.Because the bodies of t3:e children had not been recovered ar d also because of the peculiar eirlt; amstances said to surround the de .th of the mother and babies the coroner deferred the official investigation until Tuesday.At 2 o'clock Monday moining cries for help were heard by neighbors. Stone sounding the alarm. He said he had awakened to find hie room full of smoke and blaze and at:er calling to his wife without response, leaped from a window. He said that the north part: of the house, o ccupied by his family, was in flames. His only theory of the cause of the fire was that his wife kept a coal oil lamp burning which might have exploded or have , been upset.Scott Stone is a son of T. M. Stone, a wealthy land owner. His wife was a favorite and devoted to the children with whom she 1 died. Residents have demanded a thorough investigation-
