Mrs. Martha Foster, aged about40 years, wife of Doc Foster, employed in the spinning room at Beaumont Cotton Mills at Spartanburg, was found dead yesterday in a clump of woods, near the mill village, by a colored man, who, in walking through the woods, was attracted by a white straw hat on the ground. Looking about him, he saw a mound of pine needles and leaves from under which protruded the feet and hands of a woman. He reported his find to the officials of the mill, and they in turn reported the case to the sheriff and newspapers.
