John Savko was the third ranking scorer with 38 markers during the regular season. His crowning achievement was win ning the 112-pound championship of the Section in addition to a pulsating decision setback to de fending state champion Terry Halse of Erle Strong Vincent In the District 10 finals at Erie Tech Memorial High School last spring. Savko won nine of 12 regular season matches In the 1950-61 campaign. His overall mark in cluding five post-season tourney scuffles was 13-3-1. Only losses on his record in addition to the District Setback were to Fort LeBoeuf's Ron Hershey and Mc Dowell's Jim Harper, the latter in an over-the-weight match. Four of Savko's regular season successes were via the fall route. He was not pinned himself. His tie was with Titusville’s Dan Mc Intyre. Fourth place in the point par ade went to George Patterson with 34 markers on a 7-5 mark. Patterson, a 138 gladiator last year, scored pins in six of his seven triumphs. Pat was flatten ed twice himself, once by Titus vile's Dan Philips whom he pinned in a return engagement.
