Program Held At Lexington Plant LEXINGTON — Three em ployes of the Stevens Man ufacturing Co. here received “10-year service pins and 48 1others received five-year pins! “when the first service award s presentation was held at the ¢plant yesterday. * W. C. Stevens, president opened the program with a “brief history of the firm since it was established Dec. 15, 1945. Originally Stevens was lo cated with the Hartman Elec ‘trical Manufacturing Co. in Mansfield, but late in the year ,of 1949 orders of both firms ‘increased to a volume where there was not sufficient space for both. FURTHER EXPANSION Stevens then moved to 69 South Walnut St., Mansfield, but a continual upward trend it business made further ex pansion necessary. Land for a pew plant in Lexington was purchased, and while con struction was underway tem porary quarter on Mill St. in Lexington were added to the Mansfield building. Operations were moved to the new Lexington plant in July, 1954, and all Mansfield production and employes were transferred here by Sept. 1 of that year. When the company started operations on South Walnut St., there were 25 employes. Now there are 362 PINS AWARDED At sesterday’s program three salaried employes re- wrived 11-year pins and if were given five - year pins. Five-year pins also went to 38 factory workers. The honor of presenting the awards was given to the newest employe, Robert Greene from Boston, Mass. Ten-year lapel pins went to W. C. Stevens, Edward Bletz, and Gert Jesson. Five-year salaried employes are Marge Foust, Charles Mettier, Les Frasher, Ray Coe, EL W Spencer, Beth Brown, George Rouse, Florence Wolf, Irvin Whisler, and Lous Bonin. Plant workers recessing either pins or buttons were Norma Simpson, Vivian Cass ler, Merle Brenneman, Mary Pence, Virginia Stoops, Ber nice Hagerman, Ocie May, Patsy Balentin, Goldie Mc Laughlin, Mary Lou Massie Mildred F Petrovic, Laurel Murphy, Jeanette Matthes, Beverly Whiteleather, Pauline Voelp, Mary Miler, Edith Maglott, Ann Fish burn, WiNa Pederson, Ruth Poif, Lana Felte Pauline, Leddy, Gertrude Zaika, Marie Shields, Alice Johnson, Norma Chaffin Winifred Biv, Matia Pillegi, Trula Richey, Elsie Ashley, Olive Miller, Opal Kissell, Patricia Bixler,Gene vieve Andrews, Felicia Davis, Donna Oyster, Lida Kennedy and Hilda Niedhammer.
