W.M.S. Meets The Women’s Missionary So ciety of the United Brethren Church held its November meeting last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Leroy Dupler with Mrs. Jennie Fauble as assistant hostess. ‘America Needs the Church’ was the program subject with Mrs. Stacey Beougher acting as leader. The program included: devotions led by the president, Mrs. Sher man Cooksey, song, ‘America the Beautiful’ by the group, scripture by Mrs. Stacey Beougher, sketch, ‘Tea and Talk’ by Rev. Evan Jones, silent meditation, closing hymn, ‘God of Grace and God of Glory.’ Lunch in the late afternoon was served to those present who in cluded: Rev. and Mrs. Evans D. Jones, Mrs. W. P. Koch, Mrs. Charles Mathias, Mrs. J. E. Stuart, Mrs. Flora Kuhn, Miss Cecilia Weir, Mrs Frank Beougher, Mrs. H W. Mathias, Mrs. Sherman Cooksey, Mrs. Stacey Beougher and daughter, Jane, and the host esses.. Mrs. Smith. Hostess Mrs. Grant Smith was hostess to the members of the Helper’s Union of the Advent Christian Church when she invited them to her home. last. Wednesday after noon. The devotions were conducted by Mrs.R. F. Denius who used ‘Thanksgiving’ as her’ subject. The informal period was spent in sewing blocks for a quilt which the group is making for the Home and Orphanage at Live Oak, Fla. Those attending the meeting in cluded: Mrs. Daisy Pearsall, Mrs. Walter Hull, Mrs. Robert Poling, Mrs. D. W. Tucker, Mrs. William Beougher, Mrs. Guy Miller, Mrs. Eva Lehman, Mrs. R. F. Denius, Mrs., Mrs. ‘Beryl Tucker and’ Mrs. Smith. Before adjourning for their next meeting in December at the home of Mrs. Roy Rider the hostess served tasty refreshments to her fellow. club .members. Thanksgiving _ Program _A Thanksgiving program was conducted by Mrs. W. P. Koch at the J. and R. Class of the United Brethren Church when Mrs. George Bolden, Jr. invited the members to her home last Friday evening for the November meet ing, scripture by Mrs. Darrel Stuart, poem ‘Thanksgiving’ by Mrs. Francis Fauble, talk by leader, prayer by Rev. Evan D. Jones. Attending the meeting were Rev. and Mrs. Evan D. Jones and daughter, Joyce, Mrs. John Rider, Mrs. W. P. Koch, Mrs. Stacey Beougher, Mrs. Darrel Stuart, Mrs. Francis Fauble, Mrs. Leroy Dupler an Mrs. Bolden. Demonstrations Held Within the past several weeks a number of Stanley Brush demon strations have been held here in the local homes. On the list of those who opened their homes for the demonstrations were Mrs. Wil liam Beougher with Mrs. B. H. Tucker as assisting hostess, Mrs. Harold Dupler and Mrs. M. M. McIntorf assisting, Mrs. Frank Trocchia with Mrs. Evan Jones as sisting, Mrs. S. B. Primmer with Mrs. J. A. Primmer assisting, and Mrs. Charles Griffith and Mrs. H. W. Mathias assisting. Personals Miss Margaret Rose Mathias, employed in the office of the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in Lancaster, is taking her week’s vacation. Rev. and Mrs. Evan D. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beough er attended the 16th anniversary of the United Brethren Church of Enterprise. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Koch and children attended the funeral ser vices of Mr. G. H. Koch held Wed nesday, November 17 at the Ware Funeral Home in Chillicothe. He and Mrs. W. P. Koch were broth ers. Mr. and Mrs. William Primmer and Mrs. Ida Starner visited Sun day with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Starner who have recently moved to Lancaster from Detroit, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leohner and daughter, Jean Ann, were the Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Tucker and family. Rev. Howard Nason of Rich wood, O., evangelist and leader of singing is conducting revival meetings at the Advent Christian Church. Rev.. Nason has recently come to Ohio from California where he was a former pastor. Mrs. Carl.Later is in Columbus at the St. Francis Hospital with a throat ailment, according to re ports. Mrs. Eliza Tucker visited lage week with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Fauble, and family of Lancaster. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Risch and daughter, Sue, were the Fridy and Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hogan of Marion. Attending the recent Lancaster- Logan football game in Lancaster from here were Elizabeth Oat sley, Leota Starner, Jean Griffi Otto Shaw, Bob Mathias and Bill Risch. S/Sgt. Clyde Beougher conclud ed his 15-day furlough with father, Mr. Oscar Beougher of terprise and his sister in Logan. His address is: S/Sgt. .Clyde Beougher, 577th Amb. Co. (Mtr.), Camp Pickett, Va.
