Dr. R. M. Barnard Final rites for Knarl J. Patty, 48, of Camden were Saturday at Sullivan Funeral Home in Camden. The Rev. Ray French officiated and burial was in Camden Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1978, at his residence. Death was attributed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound according to Carroll County Deputy Coroner J. D. Cree. Born in Carroll County, he was the son of Knarl and Edith Little Patty. His marriage on June 21, 1963, was to Jody Eshelman. An army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a graduate of Purdue University. He was a former teacher and coach at Camden High School. Patty was a member of the Mt. Zion F. A. M. Lodge at Camden, Logan sport Elks and Camden American Legion. Surviving with the wife and mother are a son, Mike, and three daughters, Lori, Lisa and Julee, all at home; a brother, James C. Patty of South Bend; and a sister, Mrs. Howard Gard of Lafayette. A sister preceded him in death. Basil S. Kestle Basil S. Kestle, 62, of Rt. 2, Mon ticello, died at 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 1978, in Delphi Nursing Home where he had been a resident six months. He had been in ill health ten months. Born at Chalmers January 18, 1916, he was the son of Claude E. and Mabel Holmes Kestle. On April 6, 1940, he married Muriel Shull, who survives. He had been a farmer all his life and lived in his present farm home all his married life. Surviving with the wife are one brother, Ralph Kestle, of Monticello, one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Watkins, of Lafayette. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church, Monticello, where the body will be taken at noon. Rev. Walter Parks will be officiating minister. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at Mon ticello. Friends may call between 4 and 9 p.m. today at Miller Voorhis Funeral Home, Monticello. The family suggests memorials may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church. John C. Bosworth John Cecil Bosworth, 78, a former Clinton County resident and retired auto mechanic, died Fri., Nov. 24, 1978, in Waterman Memorial Hospital at Eustis, Fla. A native of Moran, he lived in Clinton County area several years before moving to Mount Dora, Fla. He was a member of the Methodist Church and Moose and Eagles lodges. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hopp of Flora and Mrs. William Sheagley of Cutler, and four brothers, Clifton Bosworth of Flora, Otto Bosworth of Mount Dora, Eldo Bosworth of Elkhart and Carl Bosworth of Frankfort. Final rites were this morning at Frankfort and burial was in Green Lawn Cemetery. Debra Brown Day Debra Sue Day, 21, of Ridgeville, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 1978, at Indiana University Hospital, In dianapolis, following 14 years of ill health. Surviving are the mother, Dorothy G Brown of Ridgeville; the husband, Marvin Day; two brothers and three sisters, all of Ridgeville; the maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Norzinskay of Logansport, and the maternal great-grandmother, Gladys Mocherman of Flora. Services were Tuesday at Ridgeville with burial in the Ball Hill Cemetery Cutler. Dr. Roscoe M. Barnard, 89, of Burlington, died at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 1978, at Milner Community Health Care Center, Rossville. He had been in poor health two months. Born Dec. 2, 1888, in Carroll County, he was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Clingenpeel Barnard. He was married Oct. 10, 1914, to Nellie M. Tenbrook, who died May 15, 1974. He graduated from the Indiana Dental School in 1933. A dentist for 46 years, Dr. Barnard lived in Garretty 45 years before moving to Burlington in 1959. He was a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Isaac Knapp District, and a life member of the Elks Lodge, serving as Exalted Ruler four years. Surviving are one brother, Russell Barnard of Rt. 1, Bringhurst one sister, Ova Ferguson of Burlington, and several nieces and nephews. One brother preceded him in death. Services were Tuesday at Neptune Funeral Home, Burlington, with the Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Charles Teel Funeral services were Monday for Charles Teel, 88, of Young America, at Sullivan Funeral Home, Camden. The Reverend Ray French officiated. Military graveside services were conducted at the Camden Cemetery. He died Friday, Nov. 24, 1978, in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo, after being in failing health six months. Born Jan. 26, 1890, in Franklin County, Va., he was the son of Ben jamin and Sarah (Flora) Teel. He was married July 30, 1940, in Rocky Mountain Va., to Ethel Cripe, who survives. A former employee of General Tire in Logansport and a retired farmer, he was a World War I veteran, and a member of the Walton American Legion. Surviving with the wife are a brother, Louis Teel of Sharp Chapel, Tenn., and a sister, Mary Smith of Indianapolis. Virgil Wheeldon Virgil Wheeldon, 78, Monon, a retired employe of the Monon Railroad, died Web., Nov. 22, 1978, at Logansport, following a five year illness. The Tennesse native was married in 1929 to Bonnie Irene Harris. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving with the widow are five sons and three daughters, including Theodore and Wayne Wheeldon and Mrs. Thelma May Collard of Mon ticello and Mrs. Sylvia Hammond of Flora; one brother; six sisters, in cluding Gladys Dahlenburg of Mon ticello; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at Monon with burial at Bedford Cemetery. Joseph O. Newell Joseph O. Newell, 82, Rt. 7, Rochester, died Tues., Nov. 21, 1978, at a hospital in Las Vegas, Nov. Born Feb. 12, 1896, in Delphi, he was the son of William and Margaret Lines Newell. His marriage May 17, 1916, was to Hazel M. Davis, who died March 16. In 1961 he retired from the Erie Lackawana Railroads as a car in spector. He was a member of the Central Christian Church and Masonic Lodge in Huntington. Surviving are one brother, Maurice, Huntington, and two granddaughters. Final rites were Saturday at Rochester with burial in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion. Evadne Campbell Evadne Campbell, 72, of Rt. 1, Camden, died Sunday, November 26, 1978, at the Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. Born June 8, 1906, in Washington Township, Carroll County, she was the daughter of John and Emma Shanks Showalter. She was married July 24, 1926, in Burlington, Ky., to Orville Campbell, who survives. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Washington Township Extension Homemakers Club, and Carroll Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving with the husband are one son, Richard S. Campbell of Kokomo; two grandchildren, two __ step grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Services were today, Wednesday, at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Theodore Hertenstein officiating. Burial was in Hopewell North Cemetery. Mrs. Ernestine Dickey Mrs. Ernestine Dickey, 46, of Rt. 2, Brookston died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1978, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis where she had been a patient for 24 hours. Born Feb. 22, 1932, in Nashville, Tenn., she was the daughter of Ernest and Hattie Belle Choate Williams. She was married on May 11, 1955, in Nashville to Delbert Dickey, who sur vives. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving with the husband are a son, Delbert C., at home; two daughters, Donna, at home, and Mrs. Terry Cargile Moss of Delphi; a brother, Williard Williams of Nashville; and a grand daughter. Friends may call this evening from 7 until 9 at Jackson Funeral Home in Delphi where services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. The Rev. William Heinrich will officiate and burial will be in Battleground Cemetery. Joseph A. Panici The funeral of Joseph A. Panici, 61, of Rt. 1 Winamac, was Saturday at Kewanna with burial in the Kewanna IOOF Cemetery. He died in a farm accident Wed nesday, Nov. 22, 1978, at his farm east of Winamac. Deceased was attempting to put anti freeze into a chemical sprayer when his clothing became caught in the power takeoff shaft of the sprayer and he was pulled into the machine. A retired farmer, he was born at Steger, Ill., on Aug. 2, 1917, the son of Alexander and Marian Sabine Panici. His marriage on June 1, 1946, at Winamac, was to Mardell Mieser. Surviving with the wife are a son, three brothers including Dominic Panici of Flora; and a sister.
