Funeral for Miss Maud Taylor, resident of Abilene for the past 54 years, was to be conducted at 4 p. m. today in the Laughter-North funeral chapel, with the Rev. Har lie Woolard, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating, as sisted by the Rev. Willis P. Ger hart of the Episcopal church Miss Taylor died Wednesday at 1:50 p. m. in her home, 440 Beech. She came to Abilene from Green ville in 1891 with her family, and took a position as clerk with Min ters’ department store when it opened in 1900. She was employed there until her retirement in 1936. Miss Taylor was a former stud ent of Addman college at Thorp Springs, now Texas Christian uni versity in Fort Worth. She is survived by two sisters, Miss Annie Taylor, 440 Beech, and Mrs. W. T. Hemphill of Abilene; four nephews, C. T. Stevens and A. R. Stevens of Waco, George A. Tayglor of San Francisco, Calif. and Ernest Reynolds Jr. of Abilene; and two nerves, Mrs. O. J. Hamilton and Mrs. E. E. Reynolds of Abi lene Pallbearers were to be Will D. Minter, Floyd Bogar, Lyman Bar tee, Clyde Hicks, Lon Harvey and Lex Buchanan. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery.
