West Berne. Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Schell gave a birthday party. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in honor of their grand-daughter, Reatha Schell, it being her fifth birth day. Thirty-five guests, of whom eleven were children whose ages ranged from three to seven years, were present. The gifts were many and pretty. At 1 o'clock the children were invited to the dining room where Grandma Young was seated at the head of the table, the children around. I twas a sight bot soon to be forgotten by those pres ent. The mothers stood at the back of the little ones to see that all went well. The dinner was such as only those skilled as Mrs. Schell is in a cooking could prepare. Chicken, baked meats, biscuit, cakes, pies and fruit in abund ance. The birthday cake was choco late, immense in size, that all might have a generous piece. Retha pre sented each with a beautiful birthday and in token of remembrance. The ‘older guests came next, and to judge by the time they were at the table, they enjoyed the dinner hugely (who de licious cream pie). The time passed ‘in conversation interspersed with mu sic, both vocal and instrumental, and ‘when the time came to say good bye, it was with regret that the day was no longer. Don’t forget your Thanksgiving din ner. Don't forget Cummings when you want shoes. 118 So. Pearl St, Albany.
