Alden. Miss Hattie Burton left Saturday morning for St. Paul, where she will visit Mr. and Mrs. M. Finton a few days, and will then leave for an ex tended visit with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ketzbach at Oaks, N. Oak. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson left yesterday for New York state for a months visit with relatives. Dr. Abbott of Albert Lea preached in the presbyterian church on Sunday. Mrs. Robert Williams was an Albert Lea visitor on Saturday. Miss Gertrude Humes leaves today for Winnebago to spend thanksgiving with her parents, she will also visit at Kilimore over Sunday. ‘The Misses Walsh, Martin and Frost will spend thanksgiving vacation at their respective homes. Mrs. Robert Coffeen and father, 8S. B. Smith left today for Stewartsville, where they will eat Thanksgiving din ner, with Rev. and Mrs. John Hender son. Hiram Van Wie, who has been work ing the past two months for the Twin City Scenic Co. at Minneapolis re turned to this place on Saturday. Mrs. Elmer Remmington and Miss Hazle visited at the T. J. Burton home on Friday. J. A. Van Wie of Minneapolis visited with friends at this place over Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Demmon of Al bert Lea will spend tomorrow at the Wm. C. Lane home south of town. Mr. Simon Jones returned to his home at Verndale last week after spending two weeks with his brother Josiah Jones. Dr. and Mrs. Gleason entertained a number of their young married friends at a progressive flinch party. After the pop were played the hostess served ainty refreshments. A delightful time was had by all present. The Methodist ladies will hold their annual sale at the city hall, on next Friday, Dec. 8. The Stearling Jubilee singers gave one of their splendid concerts at the hall on Friday evening and a full house greeted them and those present pronounced it a good musical program. A number of people from this place will spend Thanksgiving with friends and relatives out of town. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Walkes, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Swan and children and Mrs. M. E. Swan of Albert Lea will eat thanksgiving dinner at the Fred Hol way home. We are glad to report Josiah Jones much improved and able to sit up a little each day. Miss Allie Finton is ill with appen dicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Siebert Austin’s home was made happy on Sunday morn by the arrival of twin baby boys, but the little ones only survived a few hours. Irene Hemmingson, who has been seriously ill with appendicitis the past ten days, is much improved at the present writing.
