Washington.He was predeceased by his wife.Lillian G. Summers, and his former wife and devoted friend. Faye Helen Summers of Charles Town, WVa.Born Jan. 25. 1923 in Lime Kiln, Frederick Count}', he was a son of the late Elmer and Minnie Fisher Summers.He served in the United States Army, during World War II in the European Theater of Operations with the 3rd Armed Division, and received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action.He was employed in the painting contractor business for many yearsin Frederick County, operating asSummers Summers, and more recently worked at Mercy Hospital, Miami.He was a member of American Legion Post 0071: and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3522. Charles Town. W.Va.: Loyal Order of Moose 2279. Miami; and Bolivar-Harper’s Ferry Senior Citizens Club.He is survived by six children, Daniel H. Summers Jr. of Shenandoah Junction. WVa.. W.Va., and Marilyn Faye Howell of Charles Town, W.Va.; one brother, Harry Summers of Shadvside; one sister, Virgie Darby of 'Woodbridge. Va.: 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, the children’s spouses.He also leaves numerous friends of the family.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 30, at Keeney and Basford Ftmeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.Fbneral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30 in Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.Interment will be held on Wednesday.
