A delightful steamboat ride of thirty miles on this beautiful sheet of water and perhaps twenty-eight on the Flathead river brings the tourist toDemersville, which, like Benton, is “the head of naviga tion.” One can scarcely imagine a more pleasant trip than this ride on the “Tom Carter.,, The lake'is from ten to twenty miles wide, skirted by mountains that seem to be the crystalization of a poet's dream. The speed of the little steamer, the comforts of “shipboard” and the genial spirit of its proprietors make the voyage one of unalloyed pleasure,, in the early fall of 1891 entry into the valley* can ibe made over the Great Northern, which will becompleted to the coast probablyby September. While a new town will in time undoubtedly be built in the valley at some point on the Great Northern, thechief place is Demersville, a thriving little city full of enterprise and offering good inducements to the investor. It will probably be connected with the Great Northern by a spur from the main line, while the right of way has been secured for a branch from the Northern Pacific. The visitor to Demersville will find Messrs. Clifford Stannard, of that place, excellent gentlemen from whom to acquire reliableinformation respecting the valley, and the best way to make profitable investments.Noed £ maklt; that 1 Swar ComWho the ISwho tho ?wishWltho s 29 n, sameWhothewishTOotho B to ecTbtheiiOf BENilt; A.
