Stabbing leaves 1 dead, 1 injuredBELCOURT (AP) — A Bel-court man is dead and another was injured in a Thanksgiving Day stabbing here, authorities say.Witnesses told police Sylvester Zaste, 55, was stabbed with a kitchen knife during a struggle with his 40-year-old cousin, Ernest Zaste. Both live on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.Another man, Richard Baker, was treated for a minor knife wound and released.The incident occurred at a residence at about 7:30 p.m., authorities said.Rod Trottier, an investigator with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, said the incident apparently started with an argument between at least two of the men.“It’s still really undetermined what started the argument (that) ultimately led to the fight,” Trottier said.Ernest Zaste was arrested shortly after the stabbing and is being held in Minot.Trottier said the incident remains under investigation.
