By ADAM LYNN Daily News Sports Writer Ponce de Leon used its size and depth to win the championship game, and Choctawhatchee used a big third quarter to earn third place at the Coca-Cola Emerald Coast Classic girls basketball tour nament held Saturday night. Ponce de Leon beat Paxton 48-37, and Choctaw dominated Fort Walton Beach 69-53 at the FWB High School gym. PONCE DE LEON head coach Terry McClure said, ‘We're a little bit bigger and a little deeper than them,” after his team downed Paxton, Ponce de Leon center Jean Arm strong powered in 21 points from the post to lead all scorers, Arm strong averaged 28.6 points per game through three games to take tournament MVP honors. Daughtry and Bobcat guard Tonia Schofield were named to the all tournament first team. THE LADY INDIANS went on the warpath in the latter part of the third quarter, scoring 16 unanswered points to beat the Lady Vikings. ‘That's the problem — only one quarter was impressive,’’ Choctaw coach Chip High said. All-tournament selection Bella Rintala started the third-quarter run with a 3-point shot at the 2:56 mark. Maria Ortiz had six points during the sport.
