The Western Texas College Westerner basketball squad will be playing in the Wool Bowl Basketball Tournament at Roswell, N.M. tomorrow and Saturday. Four teams are entered in the meet with two games each day. Western Texas meets Oscar Rose Junior College of Oklahoma City in the first tilt of the tournament at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow. A contest between New Mexico Military Institute, the host, and Lamar Junior College of Lamar, Colo. will follow at 4:30 p.m. Saturday the losers will meet for third place at 12:30 p.m. followed by the winners meeting at 2:30 for the championship. WTC’s opening opponent is 2-2 on the year with an eight point victory over Clarendon College. “They have a pretty good ball team,’’ declared Western Coach Mike Mitchell, “they shoot well and have excellent size.” New Mexico Military Institute will probably be favored in the other contest, having recently won the New Mexico Junior College Tournament downing an exceptional Seminole Junior College team of Seminole, Okla. In the finals, Mitchell said that he would go with the same alignment that has started the other games, that will include Stanley Covington, 6-0 sophomore from Washington, D.C. and Lawrence Butler, 6-3 freshman from Glasgow, Mo. at guard; and Tyrone Clapton, 64 sophomore from Washington, D.C., Darryl Smith, 6-8 freshman from College Park, Ga. and Larry Orton, 6-8 freshman from Portsmuth, Va. at forward. Other WTC cagers available for duty are guards, Butch Person, 6-4 freshman from Brooklyn, N.Y., Harrison Johnson, 6-2 sophomore from El Paso, Tex., and Allen Corder, 6-3 freshman from Lake Charles, La. Forwards available are An thony Mack, 6-5 freshman from Richmond, Va., Chris Tisdale, 6- 4 freshman from Richmond, Va., and Ricky Frazier, 6-4
