Program Will Be Presented Today at Latter Day Saints Church —400 at Sessions. The semi-annual three-day con ference of the Spring River dis trict, Reorganized Church of Jesus 1st of Latter Day Saints, will concluded with services tonight at the Joplin church, Twenty-first street and Annie Baxter avenue. Today’s program will include a Young People’s prayer meeting at 9 o'clock this morning; church school classes at 9:30 o’clock, with R. G. Smith of Pittsburg, instruc tor at the Kansas State Teachers’ college there, in charge; preaching at 10:45 o'clock by Elbert A. Smith of Independence, Io., one of the three presidents of the church or ganization; an ordination meeting at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, fol lowed with preaching by John F. Garver of Des Moines, In. an apostle of the church; a program under auspices of the department of music at 4 o’clock; Young Peo ple’s reception at 4:45 o'clock in the home of C. T. Sheppard, 2304 Empire avenue, and the closing service at 7:30 o’clock tonight, with Amos T. Higdon of Independence, district president, preaching. To Miami Next Year. More than 400 district pastors, missionaries, delegates and mem bers attended yesterday’s business and preaching sessions. Miami was chosen as the 1933 meeting place, and dates for the next semi annual were set for Friday, Satur day and Sunday, May 26, 27 and 28. District officers will be elected at that time. Frank Kiser of Cardin, Okla., was elected to fill the vacancy on the budget committee. Other mem bers of the committee are Norman T. Gray of Parsons, Kan., and Ira Waldren of Webb City. “A Safe Investment” was the s object of a sermon by President Smith at the service yesterday aft ernoon.* Lee Quick of Mapleton, Kan., spoke on “Paul's Second Let ter to Timothy” at last night's preaching service.
