Defendants in the Liquor Dealer Pic nic Cases Acquitted. Special to Morning News, Akron, C., Nov. 26.βIn the case of John Hines, a cigar man from Canton, charged with selling liquor in a dry township, tried in probate court to day before a jury, a verdict of not guilty was brought in at 4 p.m. The case against Harry Schwier on the same charge was dismissed. The offense was alleged to have been committed at the time of the Canton liquor dealers picnic at Spring field lake. The township had voted dry and a preacher in Springfield township filed affidavits against the parties, charging them with bringing in and disposing of liquor in a dry town ship.
