By ADAM LYNN Daily News Sports Writer It was a tale of three cities Fort Walton Beach, Paxton and Ponce de Leon — in the semifinals of the 4th annual Coca-Cola Emerald Coast Classic girls basketball tournament at the Fort Walton Beach High School gym Friday night. And in both semis, Fort Walton Beach came up empty Paxton downed Choctawhatchee 46-39 and Ponce de Leon routed Fort Walton Beach 6941. Paxton faces Ponce de Leon in the final tonight at 8. Fort Walton Beach will play Choctaw in the third-place game at 6:30 p.m. @ PAXTON outscored Choctaw 18-4 in the first quarter and held on to a shaky lead throughout the game to beat the Lady Indians. The Bobcats’ half-court offense worked to perfection in the first quarter, while Choctaw’s run-and gun offense shot blanks. Paxton's Lejeana Daughtry and Tonia Schofield had six points each to spark the first-quarter barrage. Although Choctaw outscored Paxton in the second and third quarters, and tied the Bobcats in the final quarter, Paxton’s first quarter output proved too much. PREP BASKETBALL “We weren't smart because we let them control the tempo,”’ Pax ton coach Ron Mollet said, ‘‘but we played with a lot of heart. “Choctawhatchee did do very good job of making us play their game. We hit some free throws at the end and that was the dif ference,’’ Mollet said. Daughtry hit eight foul shots in the final period, two with 48 seconds left in the game to extend Paxton's lead to 42-37 Choctaw coach Chip High said his team's first-quarter play and free-throw shooting were the dif ferences in the game. “We came out flat, played flat,’ High said. ‘We tried to pr back in it but we couldn't get over the hump .And they outshot us at the line 20 to? Daughtry led all scorers with 22 points. Schofield added 12 and Tracie Hathcox chipped in six for the Bobcats. Maria Ortiz led Choctaw with 13 points. Cyndi Soller had 10 and Bella ‘uintala scored six . PONCE DE LEON ran all over Fort Walton Beach in the first two quarters to roll up a 3916 halftime lead. Center Jean Armstrong and point guard Teresa Andrews led Ponce de Leon, scoring 27 and 14 points, respectively. “We got down in the first half.
