By FINA LEE HUBBARD—The Trading Post, one of the oldest buildings in town is undergoing exterior repair. The building, owned by Jim and Elsie Hagen, had all the old paint removed and cracks in the wood filled by James Hagen Jr. Hagen, Jr. is the owner of JasCo Power Wash. He has donated his high pressure steam equipment and time not just for his parents, but to refinish one of the city’s landmark buildings. The building started nearly 150 years ago ago on the site of the Hubbard Diner. At that time it was the Blaine Brewer Coal Company. When it was acquired by Hubbard Lumber, approximately 50 years ago, it was moved the 100 feet to it’s present location next to the tracks. The Hagens recently acquired the business from Robert Baldwin, and maintained the business as it was in the past. When asked why they would stay in a building of such age instead of seeking a newer location for business, Mrs. Hagen replied: ‘“‘We run a business of used mer chandise, and the old surroundings set a nice environment.” Beveled glass windows and solid (See TRADING, Page 3) PREPARING FOR PAINT— James Hagen Jr. of JasCo Power Wash, donated his time and equipment to remove the old paint and putty the cracks in the Trading Post.
