Mrs. SchwaIbachESCANABA — Funeral services were held Nov. 17 for Mrs. Robert Schwalbach, teacher, choir director and golf champion, who died Nov. 14 after a long illness.She was 51.Born Rosemary Curran in Lake Geneva, Wl, she received her degree in music from Milwaukee State Teachers college, and taught a year in Escanaba before her marriage to Dr. Donald LeMire, Aug. 7, .1948. He died in 1970.She had returned to teaching in 1967 at Holy Name High school, going to Menominee schools in 1971 and Gladstone, 1972-75.Aug. 4, ,1972, she married Mr. Schwalbach, and with him owned and operated Bay Interiors Drapery Shop at the Northgate Home Center, here.She was director of St. Patrick's church choir for25 years, and a member of the parish guild.The 1962 U.P. Women's Golf champion, she captured the Escanaba Country Club title five times between 1949 and 1959. ♦Surviving in addition to Mr. Schwalbach are daughters Barbara (Mrs. Donald Pfotenhauer) of Escanaba and Susan LeMire of Ann Arbor; son Donald Lemire of Detroit, a grandson; her parents, Mr. Mrs. George Curran of Lake Geneva; sisters, Mrs. John Churchill and Mrs. Marvin Wilson of Lake Geneva; and brothers Thomas of El Cajon, CA, Patrick of Rockford, IL, and Daniel Curran of Milwaukee.Boyce Funeral Home handled arrangements. Fr. Kenneth Bret I officiated at St. Patrick's. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.
