Bing Crosby has invited the boys and girls of America to join in a letter-writing contest on the subject “What Christ mas Means to Me with the winning writer to read his let ter over the full CBS Radio Network as a feature of the Christmas Eve “Christmas Sing With Bing” on Monday, Dec. 24 at 6:00-7:00 PM, PST. This contest is being held for the second year in connection with Crosby's holiday program. Last year, the prize-winning letter was written by 11-year old Delores Short, who lived at the Dessie Scott Childrens ‘Home in Pine Ridge, Ky., and who read her letter on the air. Boys and girls up to the age of 12 years will be eligible to enter the contest. Letters must be postmarked not later than Dec. 15, and should be ad dressed to Bing Crosby, CBS Radio, Hollywood 28, California. Crosby will select the win ning letter. During his Christ mas Eve broadcast, a pickup will be made in the home town of the winner of the contest, and the successful writer will read his Holiday sentiments to a nationwide audience. “Christmas Sing With Bing,’ an hour-long presentation spon sored by The Insurance Com pany of North America, will give millions of listeners an opportunity to join in song with the nation’s favorite sing er of carols. The program will also feature special pickups of Christmas observances in this country, in Europe and in re mote spots of Asia.
