Howland Middle School was recently the scene of a Career Day program which gave students an opportunity to listen to speakers who are experts in their fields. The goal of the program was to help students begin the process of choosing their future careers. During Career Day, each classroom was turned into a special lecture and demonstration area where students gathered to learn more about their specific areas of interest. Those community specialists participating in Career Day included Capt. Jeffrey Biddle, military; Ed Anderson and Helen Brasko, tran sportation and trucking; Andy Bednar, architecture; Gail Patrick and Margaret Wellington, education; Dr. James Trapp, dentistry; Douglas Moore, secretarial field; Martin Petersime, music; Fred Zimmer, at torneys and the law; Tim Turose, starting a private business; Debbie Wickline, florist; Dr. Ken Hallford, veterinarian; Jim Lazor, engineering; Stephan Centofante and Connie Lody, cosmetology; Tom Foley, restaurant; Tom Altiere, law enforcement; Edward Bernola, computer operator, computer repair and robotics; Terry Gettemy and Jean Beharry, physchology; Keith Price, banking; Donna Morse, health occupations; Kerry Miller, pharmacy; Dale Bowser, auto body; Dr. Thomas Pokabla, medical doctor; and William Hoover, construction. CAREER DAY was held recently at Howland Middle School to give students an opportunity to listen to speakers who are experts in their fields. The goal of the program is to help students begin the process of choosing their future careers.
