U.N. Crime Talks Open In TokyoTOKYO (SS) —Representatives from 21 Asian countries met here Monday for the opening session of the second Asian regional seminar on crime.The 13-day conference on prevention of crime and treatment of offenders is attended by lt;*'5 Asian delegates as well as observers from the United States, Britain and Switzerland., It is an official United Nations regional seminar.Major topics for discussion during the scheduled meetings at San-kei Hall in Otemachi will include juvenile delinquency, prostitution, prison labor and prison rules.* * *SELDON FARMER, chief of the London Probation Service, will lead a group discussion on “The Probation System in Treatment of Juvenile Delinquents, while V. N. Filial, prison commissioner of Colombo, Ceylon, and H. Keller-hals, Bern, Switzerland, will present a paper on “The Integration of Prison Labor with National Economy.Other discussions will be on “Ways and Means of Implementing Standard Minimum Rules for Treatment of Prisoners, by Lt. Col. Bashir H. Sayed, inspector-general of prisons, Lahore, Pakistan, and*Dr. Alfredo M. Bunye, Philippine prison director; and “Traffic in Persons and tli§ Exploration of Prostitution, by Dr. Gaurl R. Ran-erjee, social science professor at Tata Institute, Bombay, India.“Juvenile Delinquency -with Particular Emphasis on the Growth of Urban Society will be the final topic for discussion.
