Alton Wagnon Joins Spur rier and Hickman in P. M. C. Line-up Paces Last Period Rally ‘With Four Goals, Ca dets Trail The * M. G. Indoor polo team opened its winter season by rallying t o score seven goals in the second half and crush Cornell, 8 ¢o 4, at the 13rd Cavalry Armory, Philadelphia, last night. ‘ Alto Waognan, a former team mate of Jim Spurrier and Emory Hickman at Oklahoma Military Academy, replaced the graduated Buddie Maloney in the Cadet Oneup and became the star of the P.M. C. tram. Wagran is not yet familiar with the indoor type of play and it took him: the first two chukkers to be come socustomed to the smaller area. Of play. But when he did get used to the Ingpar arena he become ped t hai. The young Okiawoman drove home four goals, including the one which broke a 4 to 4 deadlock going, in the last chukker. Spurrier scored three times while Hickman, playing number three, counted once, Cornell scored twice in the first chukker with Warren Hawley and Herb Schiffer counting. Schiffer and Jim Easter scored for the Big Red in the second chukker and Wagnon tallied for P. M. C. . but after the intermission the Corneil riders could not wouch agains and Wagnon scored twice in the third chukker after Spurrier had tallied once, tying the score. In the fourth chukker Wagnon scored the winning goal after 1:04. Two more goals 9 ° Spurrier and one by Hick man served as clinching markers. With Wagnon, Spurrier, and Hick man continued after several seasons of playing together at Oklahoma M. A. the P. M. C. polo team seems a bit stronger than it has been for sev eral seasons and the Cadets are hopefully pointing toward the in door intercollegiates next March. P.M. C. Cornell Wagnon .
